Former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor has been filmed while appearing to be converting to Islam in what is the latest episode in a series of bizarre events involving the striker.
Adebayor recently informed the public of his personal problems with his family through his Facebook page, revealing that he was extorted by his mother (via the Daily Mail) and held at knifepoint by his own brother (via the Mirror).
The Spurs striker revealed that he contemplated suicide and was subsequently handed compassionate leave towards the end of last season having only made three league appearances since November (via the Mirror).
Adebayor’s latest episode shows him sitting in a gathering, probably in his hometown of Togo while reciting behind an Imam and therefore converting to Islam.SEE MORE:

Whether or not this is a genuine decision by Adebayor – or another concern regarding his well-being – remains to be seen, but the striker continues to amaze many.
During his time with us, his acrimonious departure led many fans to question his motives after his move to Manchester City, and the forward never seemed to make any rational comments regarding his relationship with the Arsenal fans.
Who can forget his celebration at the Etihad Stadium in his first appearance against us following his departure?
